Where water flows backwards
The Huttaler Wider Waage, an equalizing reservoir artfully built in natural stone with an arched bridge also built in brick, follows the ingenious principle of keeping the water high. The water could thus flow in two directions in the Huttaler Graben and in the subsequent Huttaler Wasserlauf. The circular route takes you past the Hirschler-Pfauenteich cascade and numerous ditches belonging to the Upper Harz water management system.
